"Women in the Stream" TV Pilot Crew »
Our newest vehicle for Women in the Stream is our half hour
television production.
A unique concept in outdoors and fishing television programming. The
goal of the show is to introduce dynamic women of all ages, who are
avid fly-fishers, explore their interesting lives, both professional
and personal, and how fly fishing impacts them in positive ways. We
will engage our viewers with great stories and and take them along to
experience incredible outdoor fly fishing adventures on our guest's
favorite water around the world.
By sharing the life stories of our guests, Women in the Stream
will develop a personal connection to our viewers that will inspire
and empower. Our viewers both female and male will understand the beauty,
artistry, and excitement of fly fishing.
Hosted by writer and fly fishing educator Sally I Stoner and Deb J Cox,
illustrator and fly fishing educator, both bring years of fly fishing
knowledge and teaching experience to the program. Each show will also
cover technical fishing information for anglers of all skill levels,
such as equipment, fly tying, reading streams, fish species, casting
mechanics, food sources, catch and release.

Sally I. Stoner - Host
Growing up in Los Angeles, Sally's heart was always on the water,
either the Pacific Ocean or the mountains streams of the Sierra Nevada
where she fished with her family. A vagabond for much of her twenties,
Stoner always carried her tackle and tried her luck wherever there
was water. Finding a home on the central coast of California and a
steady job with the utility company, Sally learned to fly fish and
used every free day to pursue the sport. In 1995, she left her corporate
job to write and fly fish. Her work has appeared in several fly fishing
publications and her first book, Shared Treasures was
published in 2000. Stoner is a FFF Certified Casting Instructor, and
teaches for Becoming and Outdoors-Woman, Women in the Outdoors, and
private clients. Sally is working on her second book. |

Kim Malphrus - Executive Producer
Kim's roots run deep in South Carolina. Growing up on the coast she
feels at home on the water. After finishing her degree at Newberry
College she realized her own acumen for business. From her first venture
as a convenience store owner to her present day real estate and development
operations, Malphrus brings a fervor to her work as strong as her
passion for fly fishing. The warm waters of the Bahamas and casting
a fly to bone fish led Kim to the cold waters of western rivers and
the magic of trout fishing. Her other hobbies include photography,
hiking, and skiing. Kim is the Executive Producer of the television
show, Women in the Stream. |

Steven W. Hull -
Born and raised in the small town of Yucaipa at the base of the San
Bernadino Mountains, Steve as a youth, enjoyed exploring the hills
and streams in the surrounding area. After graduation he moved to
explore the wilds of Los Angeles and went on to receive a Bachelors
in Marketing from California State University at Los Angeles. The
corporate life ended up not to be his cup of tea so he began obtaining
his teaching credentials at Chapman University. In 1998 Hull retired
from teaching to stay home and raise the children while his wife pursued
her career in the Aviation Industry. In the mid 90s Steves
favorite Aunt introduced him to the wonders and grace of fly fishing
and hes been hooked ever since. The Madison River valley of
Montana holds many treasures and memories for him and is his annual
getaway hideaway. In between those times you can find him fishing
the lakes and streams of the Northern Sierras. Coming full circle
he and his family live in a small mountain town North of Valencia,
Ca where he has turned his hobby of making beautiful stained glass
windows into a growing side business and is the care giver for the
kids, the house and the managerie of animals and gardens on their
two acre ranch. He was eleven when he started playing the guitar and
the guitar has been through every adventure with him. His music is
simple yet descriptive and is a smooth blending of experiences and
emotions. Steve composed and performed the music for Women in the
Stream. |
